City manager highlights storm readiness, staff certifications and summer events

Sharon introduced new staff hires—an equipment operator in solid waste and a capital projects project manager—and recognized recent certifications for a fire captain and a paramedic. She also previewed community events: the July 4 parade and festival, a dive-in movie night on Aug. 6, and a combined cardboard boat regatta and duck derby on Aug. 22 at Evergreen Pool, and she noted city office closures for Juneteenth and July 3. Sharon flagged upcoming agenda items including Metro funds for streets maintenance, possible amendments to boards and commissions code, and a June 13 workshop on user fees ahead of the FY27 budget presentation on July 20.
