The council unanimously approved Resolution 2026-28 to amend the BK Development Corporation (BCDC) bylaws. A staff presenter described the changes as administrative, intended to reflect current practice and to avoid gaps or overlaps in director term dates.
The first amendment adds an option allowing city staff to perform duties traditionally assigned to the BCDC board secretary — taking minutes, preparing agendas and posting — while preserving the board secretary’s ability to retain those duties. The second amendment adjusts term expiration to September 30 with new terms beginning October 1 to eliminate timing gaps that can occur when the council’s calendar and meeting dates shift. Staff said the BCDC board had already approved the changes prior to the council vote.
