The Balch Springs City Council approved a consent agenda that included routine actions and grants. Among the items approved was a resolution accepting an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) for 2025 in the amount of $7,258 to support the community resilience program. Council also approved a resolution supporting an application to the Texas Water Development Board for water master plan project funding.
One consent item — authorization for the city manager to negotiate and execute a development agreement with Empower Her Housing Foundation, Inc., for lots at Harvest Road and Peachtree Road — was pulled from the consent package for separate discussion and later approved after a staff presentation.
The consent agenda also included approval of April 27 regular meeting minutes and other routine administrative items.
