Council approves conditional use permit for RV park at 309 Arnold Boulevard

The Abilene City Council voted to approve Conditional Use Permit CUP2026-02 to allow an RV park and associated agricultural open space at 309 Arnold Boulevard.
Tim Littlejohn, director of Planning and Development Services, presented the location and conceptual plan and said the proposal "meets all of our new requirements as adopted recently." He told the council Planning & Zoning recommended approval subject to the concept plan and plan of operation and that staff had received one notice of opposition (1.31% of notices sent).
The mayor opened the public hearing; no one came forward to speak. Councilman Price moved the item and Councilman Espinosa seconded. After a brief procedural check and a voice vote, the mayor announced the motion carried.
What's next: The permit was approved subject to the submitted concept plan and plan of operation; subsequent site-plan review and coordination with public works and other departments will be part of the permit implementation process.
