The commission recommended approval of a replat for 1104 South State Street, a roughly 0.438-acre parcel that includes part of an unopened Saunders Street right-of-way. Planning Director Lisa Hannan said the replat meets subdivision-ordinance requirements and noted the Board of Adjustments granted special exceptions for existing encroachments on front, side and rear yards.
Hannan told the commission that 17 property owners were notified by mail as statutorily required. Commissioners asked whether the Saunders Street portion had ever been opened; staff explained the survey shows the unopened street is within the applicant's deeded property and that no prior dispute was recorded. After discussion, a motion to recommend approval was made, seconded and approved unanimously. The recommendation will be forwarded to City Council.
