The council approved an ordinance establishing hauled septage disposal rates for the city’s new septic receiving facility.
Philip Bowman said the facility is on schedule for presentation to council for final acceptance, final payment and release of retainage on Aug. 18, and that staff plans to begin receiving hauled septage on Aug. 31. He told council the ordinance sets disposal rates at $7 per 100 gallons (equivalently $70 per 1,000 gallons) and that staff and wastewater division personnel will develop hauler agreements and operator training to coordinate the transition from the Park County facility to the new city facility.
The ordinance was approved on second reading by council action during the meeting; staff will continue implementation steps with haulers and the wastewater division.
