Council approves $215,000 city match after trust fund cuts Belfry Bridge boat ramp grant

City staff told council that the Wyoming Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Trust Fund recommended a reduced award for the Belfry Bridge boat ramp project and required a 1:1 city match.
Philip Bowman said the city had applied for $500,000 but the trust fund board recommended funding of $215,000 and asked that the city provide matching funds in the same amount. Bowman said the match would come from the capital acquisition fund, which has a balance in the millions, and that the council would see a grant agreement and a budget amendment for the match once the trust fund and consultant cost estimates were finalized. "We would receive $215,000 of grant funds and the city would provide 215,000 of matching funds from the city itself," he said.
Council moved and approved the resolution. Staff expects to return with a draft grant agreement later this summer or in the fall for final approval.
