Council highlights summer events, seeks volunteers for Unsung Hero Committee

The packet also summarized upcoming and recent community events: the Red, White and Hot Air Balloon event celebrating America's 250th Birthday was held July 11 at Country Park with approximately 2,000 attendees; the Summer Heat 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is scheduled Aug. 15–17 with City support for hoops and a Police/Fire outreach booth; and a FIFA World Cup viewing party is scheduled July 19 at the Beaven’s building.
Council encouraged attendance at community events and asked staff to coordinate outreach and facilities support for the tournaments and viewing party.
