Staff outlines recent Council actions and upcoming hearings affecting Planning and Zoning

Dustin Henry, Planning Manager in Cedar Park's Development Services Department, gave a brief overview of recent City Council activity and upcoming hearings that relate to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Henry said there were no commission-related items on the May 28 Council meeting. He said the June 11 Council meeting contained first readings and public hearings on a rezoning and future land use plan amendment for 1200 West Whitestone, a rezoning of Brushy Creek Plaza from professional office to local business, and ordinance amendments related to the transportation criteria manual and mobile food establishments. "For June 25 will be the 2nd reading of the ordinances for those items I mentioned previously," Henry said, and he added that July 9 will include a first reading and public hearing for the commission's rezoning request considered that night.
Henry asked for volunteers from the commission to attend the upcoming Council meetings; commissioners volunteered for the June 25 and July 9 sessions. The presentation was informational and no Council-level outcomes were decided by the commission.
