At the start of the discussion period, commissioners introduced and welcomed their newest member, Peter Church. Church spoke about his background and reasons for joining the body.
"I've lived in Ypsi since, I believe, 1996," Church said, adding that he was retired after a 30‑year career as a mechanical engineer and that he lives in Ward 2. He told commissioners he hoped to help by applying analytical skills to commission procedures and workload.
The chair and other commissioners welcomed Church and noted they look forward to collaborating with him in future meetings.
