The school board voted unanimously to accept an increase of $2,244,000 in state revenue for FY 2026–27 and to forward the updated budget schedule to the Manassas City Council.
The amendment allocates $73,000 to the food services fund and $2,171,000 to the operating fund. The motion, presented on July 14 and described in a resolution transmitted to the council, passed by a voice vote of 7–0.
On a separate finance motion, the board approved a one-time retention bonus to be paid in the August 31 pay period: $1,500 for full-time returning staff and $750 for part-time returning staff. That motion also passed 7–0.
Board members praised the budget action as funding previously unfunded needs and urged continued focus on an outstanding registration/operations need that remains on the district's unfunded list.
