Council convenes executive session to discuss collective bargaining
Summary
At the end of its June 22 meeting the Bellbrook City Council voted to enter executive session to prepare and review bargaining negotiations with public employees; the council said any official action resulting from that session will be taken in an open meeting.
After the regular agenda, Mayor Schweller moved that the council enter executive session to discuss collective bargaining. The motion specified the purpose as "preparing, conducting, reviewing negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees concerning their compensation or other terms and conditions of their employment." The council voted to enter executive session by recorded vote, and the mayor said any official business resulting from the executive session would be conducted in an open meeting.
The council did not disclose the content of negotiations during the public portion of the meeting. Following the executive session there was a vote to exit and the mayor adjourned the meeting; the council noted the next regular meeting will be Monday, July 13.
