The board took several routine and substantive actions at the May 7 meeting. On the consent agenda the board approved minutes from the April 2, 2026 joint meeting by voice vote. The chair then moved three open-session items: electing Rosio Gonzalez as board secretary for the meeting only; adopting a first amendment to a leaseback agreement with Bengal Anna Plaza LLC (with conditions); and adopting a resolution authorizing negotiation of an incentive agreement for development in or near Rosamond Town Center. All motions passed by voice votes.
Chair closed the meeting after asking for staff and board reports of community interest (none were offered) and adjourning. Several items adopted in open session require follow-up: staff must obtain executed documents for the leaseback amendment acceptable to legal counsel, and legal counsel must review and sign off on the incentive-agreement terms before final execution.
