Planning commission approves specific-use permit for BRAKE Masters in Liberty Hills

The commission approved a specific-use permit (UP 26-003) to allow a light auto-repair use (BRAKE Masters) on approximately 1.2 acres in the Liberty Hills commercial corridor near the Discount Tire site. Applicant representative Juan Vasquez of Vasquez Engineering said the shop "specializes in brakes" and provides alignments and underbody services; Vasquez said, "This will be the 1st one here in Anna, Texas." He emphasized that work is performed inside the building.
Developer Matt Moore and staff described the broader commercial opportunity at the intersection of Rosemont and Highway 75, with Moore saying the Liberty Hills commercial corridor is "over 250 acres" and that a grocer and other retailers are in discussions. Commissioners asked whether vehicles would be stored outside and about shared access; staff and the developer said the bays would face internal lots and that shared access would be provided as required by staff. A commissioner praised the use as "a good complimentary use" next to Discount Tire. A motion to approve the permit was made, seconded and passed by the commission.
