Parks staff outlined proposed fee increases intended to improve cost recovery across golf operations and athletics. For golf, staff proposed a typical $2 green fee increase (for example, Ross Rogers weekend fee from $35 to $37 and weekday fees from $32 to $34) and adjustments to twilight and cart fees. Staff said these steps are part of a multi-year approach to reach cost recovery.
For athletics, staff proposed increasing softball team fees by $50 per season, small increases to volleyball team fees (for example, $25 per team for indoor permits), and raising field rental rates for youth and adult games by $5. James Stowe said maintenance and official costs have risen and that user participation and rentals have increased.
A board member moved to forward the fee schedule to City Commission as presented. The board voted to send the proposal to City Commission; the motion passed by voice vote "Aye" as recorded in the transcript. Staff will present the package to City Commission for final approval and any council-level adjustments.
