Several commissioners asked whether the resolution’s Part 3—currently worded to reference the Secretary of the Interior standards for rehabilitation—should instead reference the full set of Secretary standards (preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, reconstruction) so the commission would have the broader options available in future reviews. One commissioner recommended staff check the exact legal phrasing before adoption.
Members voted to table the resolution to the next meeting so staff can verify language and consider listing all Secretary of the Interior standards or otherwise clarifying the text. The item will return for action after staff research and any proposed edits are circulated.
