She explained the original permit was filed under the wrong address and that the sign was anchored in cement and could be removed if required. "I did not know the rules," Trammell said.
Commissioners discussed how to better educate new owners of historic properties about application requirements and noted prior similar cases. Staff clarified that approval of the certificate of appropriateness permits the sign concept and that a subsequent building permit will confirm dimensions and details. The motion to approve was seconded and carried.
