City staff (Philip Bowman) presented the results of an RFP process for playground equipment for the planned Trailhead Park and recommended awarding the contract to Garrett Parks and Play. "We did receive six proposals and reviewed the top two recommended proposals with city council on May 26, with city council's concurrence," Bowman said, adding the company's president, Vern Garrett, has signed the contract. Bowman said minor contract clarifications had been made and that, with council approval, the contract would be routed to the mayor for signature.
Bowman provided a project schedule: materials ordered after contract approval could arrive in Cody by mid to late July, Garrett's installation crews expect to be on site the first week of August, and City crews will complete ADA parking stalls and finishing sidewalk work so the park should be complete before the end of August. Council thanked the Cody Rotary Club for philanthropic contributions supporting the project.
