Council approves Bridal Saddle Shop mural, expands artist RFQ to Rocky Mountain West

City staff presented a proposed mural project for the side of Bridal Saddle Shop, asking council to approve the wall MOU and the request for qualifications for artists. Emily, public art staff, said the project uses a Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund grant plus matching funds and volunteer hours and that the public art committee (CPAC) will manage an artist call expanded to the Rocky Mountain West.
"All this is is we are hoping to move forward on our next mural project ... This is thanks to a grant from the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund," Emily said. She noted the plan is to prime the sandstone wall and, if the weather allows, complete work in September–October; otherwise the installation would move to spring.
Council members asked logistical questions about the city's existing vinyl signal wraps and YDOT approvals; staff confirmed six more wraps are scheduled for printing. The council moved to approve the MOU and RFQ (motion by Councilmember Tamela; seconded by Councilmember Lang) and the motion carried without recorded opposition.
