Council approves planned development for garage-office condominium suites at Jones Road

Bryan City Council voted to approve rezoning RZ2068, a proposal to change an eight-acre tract from Innovation Corridor zoning to a Planned Development permitting garage-office condominium suites intended for storage of collector motor vehicles.
Development Services Director Martin Zimmerman explained the PD would blend Innovation Corridor and West Villa Maria corridor overlay standards, forbid residential occupancy and require property-owner association enforcement to prevent living in the units. Zimmerman said the applicants operate multiple locations around Texas and the Planning and Zoning Commission discussed occupancy restrictions thoroughly, then recommended unanimous approval. Council moved, seconded, and approved the PD unanimously.
