The Bryan City Council approved rezoning request RZ25-15 to change about 0.41 acres adjoining the northwest side of Villa Maria Road from Residential District 7000 to a planned development district.
Martin Zimmerman, Development Services Director, described the request as a speculative rezoning intended to make the property more marketable while matching development standards of the adjacent PD, including a mandate to remove an on-site billboard and to install an 8-foot masonry wall to protect neighboring residences. Zimmerman said the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval and that staff had not received citizen comments opposing the proposal. After brief council questions and confirmation of the wall requirement, a council member moved to approve and the motion carried unanimously.
