Council passes emergency appropriation to cover firefighter retirement payout

"This is being written as an emergency," he said, "because there are obligations to get those done timely." The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all present voting yes. The council noted the appropriation relates directly to the retirement presented earlier in the meeting.
