The Forney City Commission approved a site plan for a 6,000‑square‑foot retail building on Lot 2F at 40 Marketplace, north of U.S. Highway 80 and west of Marketplace Boulevard. Staff described the site design, including concrete and brick exterior materials and 33 parking spaces for customers and employees.
A commissioner asked whether the building would be a single tenant or multiple tenants; staff replied the development could accommodate multiple tenants but could not yet verify how many would lease space. After brief discussion, a motion to approve the site plan carried by voice vote.
Staff will continue with standard follow-up processes, including permit review and coordination with the developer as tenant details become available.
