Several residents told the Board on June 15 that deer are causing widespread damage to gardens and urged the Township to take action.
Lynn Crawford said deer have caused significant damage to her garden and argued the Township should investigate and form a commission; Supervisor William R. Shoemaker acknowledged the problem and the Board agreed to take the request under advisement. Robin Flavelle noted the impact on homeowners with small properties and asked the Board to consider options other than culling. Vera Robinson said a fence in Malvern Borough may be affecting local deer movement but told the Board she had not noted an increase in the number of deer.
Missy Schwartz presented a proposal with resident signatures advocating a 1.5‑lane bridge design instead of a two‑lane structure and urged the Township to "slow down Willistown." Cindi Myers supported a tree removal permit program but questioned whether a 1.5‑lane redesign would be cost effective; Supervisor Shoemaker clarified the Spring Road repair is a culvert and that a redesign would require additional engineering and costs.
