Ivins City Council unanimously certifies primary election canvass

The Ivins City Council voted unanimously to approve Ordinance No. 2025-19, certifying the information contained in the canvass report provided by the Washington County Election Clerk for the municipal primary election held Aug. 12, 2025.
The presiding official opened the canvassing meeting and asked whether members had any disclosures before considering the ordinance. During disclosures, Councilmember Scott said, "I'll disclose that I was a candidate in the primary," and other named council members reported no conflicts. The presiding official then introduced the ordinance and noted that county representatives Jenna and Carrie were present and had answered questions previously shared with the council.
One council member moved to approve the ordinance "an ordinance of Ivins City, Utah certifying the information contained in the canvass report provided by the Washington County election clerk of the municipal primary election held on 08/12/2025." After a second and a roll-call vote, Councilmembers Gillespie, Barton, Smith and Scott voted "Aye," and the presiding official stated, "Motion carries unanimously." The council recorded no opposing votes or abstentions.
The certification completes the council’s formal acceptance of the county canvass report for the August primary. No further action was taken on the ordinance at the meeting.
