Council approved the consent agenda after staff walked through the items. A clerical duplication of an item was noted by staff; council members asked about a council liaison to the conference advisory board and whether a council member must hold a voting seat on the board. Staff explained the existing ordinance authorizes five voting seats on the conference advisory board; a council liaison may serve as a nonvoting liaison and maintaining a council member as a liaison does not require changing the ordinance.
A member raised whether a council member had already been appointed to the board; staff said the arrangement discussed prior to the council changeover had allowed the liaison role to continue without expanding board seats. The council approved the consent agenda as presented.
