Council authorizes city manager or designee to sign RCP grant documents

Planning Director Lisa Hannan explained the resolution before council was intended to allow the city manager and a designee to execute documents and serve as authorized signatures for the Resilient Communities Program (RCP) grant administered by the Texas General Land Office, because prior authorization allowed only the manager. Hannan said the city had received the RCP grant and the resolution updates signatory authority to include a designee when required.
A council member asked if a designee was needed in practice and staff said an existing document already designates someone to act in the manager's absence; council moved and approved the resolution.
