Public works staff reported the Mentock Park splash pad is out of service because of a failed motor and combined pump unit; the unit was removed and sent to Billings for assessment.
"That unit was removed today, and one of our local electricians...volunteered to take it up to Billings to see if the motor can be repaired," Philip Bowman said. He said if the motor can be repaired the splash pad could be back in service as early as next week; if not, a complete replacement unit may need to be ordered from a vendor in Nevada and could take additional time to arrive.
Bowman asked for patience from residents while staff work on repairs and said the city is actively pursuing the fastest route to restore the amenity.
