Duncan Rodakovich, director of the Wild West Paddle Club, asked the council for authorization to sell alcohol at the City Park awards ceremony for the Wild West River Fest set for the first full weekend in August (reported as Aug. 8–9).
"My name is Duncan Rodakovich...we were just seeking approval to sell alcohol at City Park during our awards ceremony, Saturday night," Rodakovich said during the consent-calendar public comment. The mayor thanked him and council asked no follow-up questions. The consent calendar, which included the festival request, passed by voice vote.
Rodakovich characterized the Paddle Club as a youth kayaking nonprofit; council members thanked him for organizing the event and for working with youth. The approval was handled as part of the consent agenda, so no separate roll-call vote specific to the festival request was recorded.
