The Benbrook City Council opened its June 18 meeting, approved the minutes of the June 4 regular meeting and adopted Resolution No. 2026-04 to designate the Commercial Recorder as the city's official newspaper. The council then heard informal public comments from residents and community groups.
During public comment, residents raised concerns about drainage and persistent mosquito infestations in a neighborhood near Timberline and Bridal; Jeff Bailey of the Cowtown Amateur Radio Club invited officials to a Field Day on June 27–28 at Trinity Park and said club members help with storm spotting and emergency communications. Council member Miss Franklin reminded attendees that Juneteenth is a federal holiday and said city offices and facilities will remain open. Mayor adjourned the meeting at 7:16 p.m. and a work session followed immediately.
