Residents press council on detentions, a long‑parked tour bus and motorhome ADA access

Three residents addressed the council during the citizen communications portion of the meeting.
A resident who identified herself as Christelle — listed on the public signup as Crystal Erickson Collins — asked the council to consider policies that protect neighbors she said are being detained, sometimes without due process, and raised concerns about racial profiling. "Please have robust conversations about what can and should be done to protect our most vulnerable friends and neighbors," she said.
Roberto Alanis described a large silver-and-blue tour bus repeatedly parked at the corner of Megan and Treeline in his residential neighborhood. He said the bus was red-tagged on April 16 and again on May 26 and questioned why it has not been removed. "It's been there for a number of months... It has been red tagged. It has not been removed," Alanis said, asking for the city's help.
John Woodley spoke about long-term motorhome parking and said he needs close proximity to care for his hospitalized mother. He said he displays a handicap placard and accused neighbors of harassment. City staff and the mayor responded, noting staff had engaged with him multiple times in recent weeks, attempted to outline possible alternatives and would continue to work with him while enforcing ordinances intended to balance individual needs and neighborhood access.
Council members and staff described outreach efforts and said staff will continue to coordinate with residents on available resources and lawful parking options.
