During the presentation for the Whitestone Commercial preliminary plat, applicant Brian Dench said the owner, Mr. Hawkins, has owned the tract for some time and that platting the property as a single lot is intended to make it more marketable. "At least get more exposure, I guess," Dench said when describing why the owner sought the plat.
Dench also confirmed there is a water flow that runs through the center of the site toward the golf course and that the lot has shared access from the clubhouse area to US 377. Commissioners asked follow-up questions about marketing history and the on-site water flow; Dench answered that the owner has had the property for some time and that the water feature will be addressed through drainage easements and later civil plans.
