Council approves Microsoft enterprise renewal on consent for core city IT services

The Bedford City Council approved its consent agenda June 23, which included a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter a one‑year Microsoft Enterprise Agreement through SHI Government Solutions under the Department of Information Resources cooperative purchasing contract. City Manager Andrea Roy told council the agreement maintains critical Microsoft services—email, cloud storage, Teams and Office licenses—and that funding is available in the IT operating budget.
Roy said the annual contract amount is $141,951 and that if both one‑year renewals are exercised the total would be $425,853. She explained $130,595 will be charged to the IT operating budget and $11,356 to the water/sewer nondepartmental operating budget. Council approved the consent agenda by motion and unanimous vote.
