As a contingency measure tied to the approved Manpower arrangement, the board authorized Board Member Raymon Green and Chief Executive Administrator Antinette Maestas to purchase workers' compensation insurance through the State of Nevada if Manpower's risk group determines it cannot provide that coverage. Deputy Attorney General Joseph Ostunio told the board the purchase through the State would result in additional cost with no corresponding reduction in Manpower's administrative fee.
The motion to authorize the contingency purchase passed unanimously. The board directed staff to proceed with the contingency only if Manpower confirms it cannot provide workers' compensation coverage, and to return with costs and documentation if the State purchase becomes necessary.
