Council approves TPWD grant resolution for Oak Hollow trail in Carroll Park

Park planning and development manager Dalen Walker briefed the council on a TPWD Local Park Program grant application for the Oak Hollow trail segment at the southern tip of Carroll Park. Walker told council the grant requires the city to designate an official (the director of public works) to certify eligibility, match availability, and permanent park dedication; the council approved the resolution unanimously. Walker described the application timeline: the grant opened May 1, the application deadline is August 1, scoring runs August–December with funding recommendations in January, and a grant agreement (if awarded) would be expected by July 2027 with three years to spend awarded funds.
The resolution codifies a plan the city had already set aside in the CIP and formalizes designations required by the TPWD application.
