Virginia Space breaks ground on Accomack hangar; agency reports interns and infrastructure work

Lillian Palmach, head of external relations for Virginia Space, told the council the agency broke ground earlier this month on a new aerial hangar at Accomack County Airport and will manage construction prior to turning the facility over to the county. "Earlier this month, we broke ground on the new aerial hangar at Accomack County Airport," Palmach said, adding that Congresswoman Kiggins and Delegate Bloxom attended the event.
Palmach said Virginia Space has launched an intern cohort that will expand staff presence at Wallops and that the agency continues to support launch-site modifications for companies such as Firefly. She also said dredging spoils from a nearby project are slated to go to the Mars Industrial Complex (about 610 acres) and that activity on that work had just started.
Palmach declined to name new customers she could share with the council at this time and deferred to company websites for launch timelines for specific providers. The council thanked Palmach and asked staff to continue coordinating on master planning and local involvement with Virginia Space's master plan work.
