Commission reviews July 4 outreach: set-up timing and giveaway logistics noted for improvement

Commission members who staffed the July 4 red-white-and-you event gave a debrief on what went well and what to fix. Renee Granado called the event "an incredible event," praising the city’s activities and fireworks, while others said logistics—particularly setup timing and locating the site—created challenges for volunteers.
Kimberly Banks and other commissioners recommended over-scheduling setup staff to avoid last-minute scrambling and suggested prepackaging giveaways for the event. The commission also identified a broken banner and limited prize inventory for a giveaway wheel as items to address before future events.
"Fireworks show was phenomenal," Renee Granado said when summarizing the event. Several commissioners noted they arrived earlier than expected and recommended moving to a 45-minute setup window and pre-packaging promotional items for quick deployment.
