The Community Multicultural Commission introduced several new appointees during its meeting. Chair Korshara Prenell asked the new members to state their names and district representation; Christopher "CJ" Johnson said he was appointed by Mayor Hedrick to represent District 8 and noted he recently completed CPA certification and joined a TCO board with the Garland Police Department. Moses described growing up in Garland, mentoring students across six DFW schools (five in Garland) and being appointed by Carissa Dutton.
Steven Flores introduced himself as a 14-year Garland resident appointed from District 3 and said Council Member Moore nominated him. Chair Korshara Prenell welcomed the new commissioners and reminded the group that meetings are held every third Thursday at 6 p.m.
"So I'm in District 8," Christopher "CJ" Johnson said, describing his background and commitment to local service. Moses added that his mentorship programs work with middle and high schools and focus on leadership development.
