Council recognizes scholarship recipients and local events organizers

The Balch Springs City Council recognized scholarship recipients and community event volunteers during its June 8 meeting.
Staff announced 11 scholarship recipients and called forward awardees for photos. The council also acknowledged the Best Southwest Mayor’s Scholarship recipient, Brenda Moreau, who will attend Dallas College and pursue studies toward a legal-career track. "Brenda embodies the values of leadership, service, and determination," a presenter said.
Later in the meeting, resident Felicia Reddick publicly thanked councilmembers and staff for approving and supporting the Bayou Bash crawfish-boil event in April and expressed interest in assisting future events.
