Staff says Senate Bill 827 requires biennial fiscal training; NetFile rollout to include two-hour course

Planning manager Sonia Louie informed the commission that "Senate Bill 8 27 now requires fiscal and financial training every 2 years for local agency officials and designated staff." She said the required training will be launched in the NetFile online filing system within the next two weeks and that "as a commissioner, you will receive an automated email from NetFile with the link to the required 2 hour training."
Louie explained that once the training is completed, a certificate of completion will be uploaded to the user's NetFile dashboard and there is "no need to email certificate to the city clerk's office." She invited commissioners to contact staff if they needed assistance. Staff also recommended adjourning the meeting to May 11, 2026; the commission agreed and closed the meeting to that date.
