The La Habra City Commission voted to adopt Resolution No. 2609, finding the proposed fiscal year 2026–27 seven‑year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) consistent with the City of La Habra General Plan 2035. The clerk announced the motion passed 4–0; the resolution will take effect in 10 working days unless it is appealed to the city council.
City staff presenter Ali Walston, who identified herself as a licensed civil engineer, summarized the CIP and the proposal’s structure. Walston said the program is organized into three categories — projects in progress, newly proposed projects, and deferred projects — and described the scope: staff reported 36 projects currently in progress, 36 newly proposed projects (including annual street improvements and sidewalk repairs), and 27 projects placed on a deferred list pending funding. "I am Ali Walston, a licensed civil engineer," she said.
Commission discussion was brief; the public hearing was opened and the chair said there were no members of the public who wished to speak. After the hearing closed the commission moved to adopt the resolution. The clerk read the vote and confirmed the 4–0 outcome. The commission did not identify additional funding action at the meeting; deferred projects remain contingent on future funding availability.
The adopted resolution becomes effective in 10 working days unless an appeal is filed with the city council. The commission adjourned and set its next meeting for July 13, 2026.
