He also described a golf-cart crash at the intersection of Harborview and Fort Johnson that injured at least one juvenile and noted ongoing enforcement against e-bikes and e-motos. Captain James said officers are tracking several unauthorized encampments on DOT-owned parcels near Highway 30 and the Harris Teeter area, estimating "at least 10 or more" people in the area and coordinating with DOT and the City of Charleston for outreach options. He emphasized that moving encampments often displaces people without creating housing solutions.
