James Island council adopts FY2026–27 operating budget and approves amended FY2025–26 budget

The James Island Town Council adopted the fiscal year 2026–27 operating budget (Ordinance 2026-05) and approved amendments to the current-year budget (Ordinance 2026-06) during the June 18 meeting.
Finance presenter Mike Hemmer told the council the packet summarized results through the end of May (11 months into the fiscal year) and that figures assumed passage of the amended budget at second reading. Hemmer reported revenues running at about 75.1% of budget and said several large payments were still expected during the month. After brief discussion and thanks to staff, the council approved both ordinances on unanimous roll-call votes.
