City Manager John told the council the city has purchased fingerprinting equipment and will begin offering in-house fingerprinting and background-check services. “We offer BCI and FBI, so those are 2 different checks. If you just need 1 of those, it's $35. If you need both it's $65,” he said, explaining the fees are intended to cover costs rather than generate profit.
John said the service is available to residents and nonresidents, and that scheduling information and fees are posted on the city's website. He also reminded listeners about upcoming community offerings, including Parks & Rec classes and an arts exhibit, and noted the city continues to recruit for public-safety communications positions.
