Mayor Jeff Gore proclaimed March 23, 2026 as Pollinator Day in Huber Heights and praised local efforts to support pollinators. Andy Hill of the Parks & Recreation Department detailed three initiatives: a seed-collection program at Cloud Park and Rip Rap Park, an annual tree and plant giveaway (rescheduled to April 25), and a solitary-bee program in June where participants can learn about caring for leafcutter and mason bees and take a bee house home.
Hill also said Parks & Rec has applied for an EPA grant to fund interpretive signage at Rip Rap Park and to support invasive-plant removal. He emphasized outreach and resident participation and invited residents to sign up for programs through the city's website.
