Business owners press town to protect customer parking during School Street work

A representative of a nearby brewing company asked how the project will affect customer parking and said redirecting patrons to street parking could cause complaints. "We'll have to spend a lot of effort redirecting people to park on the streets, and then people are gonna get angry," the representative said.
Town staff and the design team said the parking lot was bid as a net alternate and was awarded as part of the contract, but timing is uncertain and some activities (pole relocation, infiltration basins) will require temporary closures. "For the most part during construction, that parking lot will be open to its normal use... the contractor is not gonna be staging any equipment or materials in there," Steve Kron said, while promising to keep businesses informed about timing.
