At least one resident urged the town to restrict detour traffic through School, Garfield and Union during a two‑week overlap with a nearby roundabout detour, citing safety concerns for children when school starts. "If you restricted the use of our streets that you're working on to local traffic... the neighbors would love it," the resident said.
Public Works Director Steve Kron acknowledged the concern and said the town expects about a two‑week overlap between the roundabout detour work and this project. "We can certainly look at restricting that area to local traffic," he said, while noting the primary detour route will remain on Lincoln and Gale Streets.
