Panelists advised governments that overlapping jurisdictions (for example, a county and a city) should coordinate during the LUCA preparation and review process to reduce duplicate efforts and reconcile address-count differences. "A coordinated approach, with overlapping governments, is needed," Peter Virgil said, noting the Bureau's systems apply a hierarchy and governments will have opportunities to review and appeal address updates.
The panel also discussed the address count listing and whether group-quarter (GQ) facility type counts could be added at block level for annual products. Speakers noted 2020 block-level GQ counts were previously released, but releasing GQ types annually raises disclosure and approval constraints; the panel took an action to investigate feasibility and timelines.
