Council recognizes McDaniel Citizen University graduates

Dublin City Council opened the meeting on June 8 by recognizing graduates of the McDaniel Citizen University. Chuck Sampson (Ward 4) and Marty Micah spoke on behalf of their class and thanked council and staff for the program, praising the opportunity to learn about city departments, planning, mobility and public safety.
"As proud alumni of Dublin Citizen U, we want to thank you for offering this program," Chuck Sampson said, adding that the class helped participants feel more connected to city government and empowered them to encourage civic engagement among neighbors. Council thanked the participants and noted Citizen University’s origins and naming in honor of former City Manager Dana McDaniel.
The recognition highlighted the city’s continuing efforts to engage residents about municipal operations and encourage local leadership.
