Staff noted the approval is subject to the annexed area assuming an appropriate share of existing city indebtedness and that the petition will be transmitted to the Yakima County Boundary Review Board for a 45‑day review before final action.
The action covers parcel Nos. 230927-11424 and 230927-11425 at 160 Hickory Road and follows a May 20, 2026 Hearing Examiner proceeding. The council approved Resolution No. 2026-37 to authorize transmittal of the petition for the required county review period.
